Viewing a high-level dataset summary

Viewing table information

Within a workspace, you can view a list of all data tables in your database. Click on a table to display useful information and statistics in the right-hand sidebar.

The Information tab in the sidebar can display the title, URL and description for the data table. These fields can be specified when you upload data via the web upload wizard, or in the table definition file when uploaded using SFTP.

Data statistics for the table is also displayed, giving an overview of the number of columns and rows in the table, and the estimated size of the data if it were saved as a file on disk.

Viewing column information

If you click on a data table on the Datasets list, you will see information on all the table's columns.

For each column, you can see the name of the column and its data type. Additionally, you may see a description of the columns if this was specified when the data was uploaded into the workspace.

You can also watch the video in the Opening or previewing a data table article for a visual walkthrough.
