The Workspaces Airlock feature allows you to copy data and files from one workspace to another. This is useful in cases where you want to share workspace assets with another team, for example.
If you are not a member of one or more other workspaces this option will not be available to you, and the button will be disabled.
Submitting an Airlock copy request for a single file
You can select to copy an individual file from the Files tab, or an individual data table from the Datasets tab. Either click to select the content you require from the list and click 'Airlock', or open the file and then select 'Airlock' – the process operates in the same way.
You will be prompted to select whether you want to either download, or copy your file or dataset to another workspace. Select the copy option, then choose the destination workspace from the dropdown list. The dropdown will only display workspaces that you are a member of, where you hold the role of Contributor, Standard, or Workspace Administrator.
Next, provide a comment in support of your copy action (this is a requirement) before submitting the request.
After clicking the 'Submit request' button you will receive a message stating that your request has been received, the relevant Workspace Administrators have been notified, and your request is awaiting authorisation. At this stage, Workspace Administrators can either approve or refuse your request.
Completing the copying request
Once your request is approved by a Workspace Administrator and the appropriate content has been prepared, the status of your request will change to ‘Airlock – Ready’.
Click the 'Copy' button to send the data and files to the destination workspace.
A notification will appear informing you that the copy process has started. The time required for the copy to complete will be dependent on the amount, and size, of data and/or files that you have chosen to copy.
Once the copy is complete, the request on the activity page will change to 'Airlock – Complete'. Notifications informing you that the copy has completed, along with the comment that was recorded when the request was originally created, will appear in the activity page of the destination workspace.
